Copenhagen

This trip was from Mid June......I bet you probably think, "wow they go on so many trips!" Yes we do but this was our first trip that John did not have to work.  I have always wanted to go to a Scandinavian country because they are very family friendly people. We decided to go to Copenhagen more because it was a lot cheaper than Stockholm.

We loved Copenhagen. Poor John wanted to relax and I think he was way more tired coming home than going. We decided to get a 3 day Copenhagen card that covered all the tourist sights plus all public transportation.

Miss Ava loves being our guide:

We decided to do our first Airbnb and it was amazing. John found a great flat in a cool area. I guess they say it is the up and coming part. 10 years away it was really bad. The place was clean, spacious and they had toys for the kids!

It was a nice warm weekend. Loved how they all sit out.

The street we stayed on had the best coffee shop in town.

I thought this was a cool idea. The lady said she saw it in San Francisco. You make ice cream with liquid nitrogen. It was really good.

One of the best breakfast places was on our street. I love porridge and one of the toppings was dulce de leche, almond and apples. I loved it. The kids not so much.

I did not take a picture but on our street had a Michelin Star restaurant. What I love about this place was that we saw kids eating in there. People rarely take their kids out to better restaurants here in Scotland. We could not get in but they own Manfreds across the street and I loved it. They had Kohl Rabi which is my new favorite veggie.

Danish people love to bike. When I asked Ava if she likes Copenhagen she said yes because they have my favorite bike!!! Such a sweet heart.

We took the bus into the old town and it was beautiful.

We went up a tower to see the city.

Part of our Copenhagen Card got us a canal ride. It was a warm day and everyone was out. It lasts an hour but it is so fun. And you see so much!

Little Mermaid

I had to shop:)

While I shopped, Ava danced

We ended up going to Torvehallerne Market. It is part indoors and outside. They have amazing food and a really cool atmosphere. Kids are welcome:)

Ava telling the bus we want them to stop

We decided to go to Carlsberg Beer. John enjoyed the Micro brew

They had horses for the kids

Since it was outside the Old Town, I thought that I found a faster way to another bus but I did not. At one point John saw a jail.

We ended up going back to the market to get tacos and the kids just ate Salami.

With our Copenhagen Card it got us into a Palace to see the Crown Jewels. They do not disappoint. We both realized that the Danish Royalty is very proud and very showy.

We went to Trivoli Gardens. I would say our kids were too young but they loved to watch the roller coasters. Our Copenhagen Card got us in, otherwise we both agreed it wasn't worth the cost.

They did have a play area

We did go to Amalienborg Palace. It is still used for State Functions. I thought it was beautiful.

To save the floors everyone has to wear booties

They had the Royal Horses. They are white and beautiful

There is a list of all the Horses each King rode

They have all the carriages the Royal family used.

On our way back to the airport there is a big Aquarium. Of course our Copenhagen Card got us in. The kids loved it and it was a great way to do something right next to the airport.

The only time I will get close to a puffin:(

We loved our trip to Copenhagen. We were tired. But we loved the culture.
